Summer Reading Programs:
- Barnes & Noble: Read any eight books and record them in the Barnes & Noble Reading Journal online. Bring your kid's completed list into any Barnes & Noble store to get a FREE book from the Reading Journal list.
- Book Adventure: It's not strictly a summer reading program-but it's such a great program, it's worth a mention. Sign up with Book Adventure by Sylvan online, where kids K-8 can find books, take quizzes to test reading comprehension and earn prizes! And there is one summer-specific feature: Dog Days of Summer Reading Contest. Points earned through Book Adventure will go toward a chance to win movie tickets, books and more!
- Book It: Sponsored by Pizza Hut, Book It invites children nationwide to join the Summer Break Reading Challenge Sweepstakes. Any child age K-6 who reads five books during the summer will be eligible to win a Diary of a Wimpy Kid Summer Fun prize package.
- Chuck E. Cheese: Read one book a night for two weeks to get 10 FREE Chuck E. Cheese tokens with a food purchase. Just print the online rewards reading calendar when it's completed, and redeem it for the tokens at your local Chuck E. Cheese.
- Half Price Books: Earn Half Price Book Back-to-School Bucks in June and July by joining the Half Price Books Summer Reading Program, open to kids age 14 and under.
- Scholastic Summer Challenge: Log the minutes you spend reading this summer in the Scholastic Summer Challenge to win prizes!
